I’m a freelance theatre & dance photographer based near Watford, covering Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and North London. With over ten years of experience, I’ve worked with many local amateur theatre groups and dance schools on a diverse range of shows.

I pride myself on producing a set of high-quality photographs quickly. An initial set of images will be sent the day following the dress rehearsal so that promotion can continue across show week – giving audiences a glimpse of what to expect from the production but crucially avoiding any spoilers!

A full set of images will follow a week or two later, once I’ve been able to check and process them to make them look their best. These images will be stored on a secure website, giving you the option to give access to cast members to view and download them, without the company having to distribute lots of files.

My theatre images have appeared on BBC News, BBC Sounds and Time Out New York.

My background

My first foray into the world of theatre photography was back in the 1990s with a trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a group of young comedy actors. I then did some publicity images for local productions of Hamlet and The Canterbury Tales. After university my career got in the way and although I still enjoyed photography, I didn’t venture back into production photos until a camera club visit to my local amateur dramatics group rehearsing for The Producers in 2015.

I soon remembered just how much I loved the challenge of capturing those important moments on stage and showing the relationship and emotions between characters.

Since then, I’ve been regularly photographing performances for local drama groups and dance schools.

In the summer of 2023 I turned my hobby into a career, becoming a freelance photographer full time.
